My Idea For Disney
Apr. 25th, 2022 05:39 pmI both love and hate all the comments on Twitter about the Disney company picking up and moving out of Florida.
I love it, because it's funny.
I hate it, because it shows a lot of ignorance. And I like to imagine that people on the left are more logical and less ignorant.
Disney World is HUGE. I don't know how people imagine it can be simply moved.
Here is my idea:
Keep Disney World where it is. Don't add any new rides or resorts. Stop development. But don't let the place go to shit. Keep it in excellent condition. Maintain it. Keep it open. Update rides when needed.
And then...I think they should build all-inclusive themed resorts in Blue States. Each resort should be different...unique. This will give people a reason to travel to these cities/states, which will help with tourism.
I'm picturing something like Club MedβA cruise-on-land kind of thing. Emphasis on restaurants, character meet-n-greets, parades, dinner shows, night shows, etc.
I think each resort could have one dark ride. And the ride could combine a Disney theme with promoting the location. For example, Let's say there's a Toy Story resort in New Mexico. The Dark ride could have Toy Story characters visiting various tourist sites in New Mexico. It would be like Donald Duck in the Mexico ride at Epcot.
Ideas for Themes: Star Wars, Marvel (sleepover Marvel University), Toy Story, Mickey and Friends, Villains, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean.
Another idea...I mean in addition to my inclusive resort idea.
How about a summer camp place...and then alternate the weeks between family camp and camp-for-adults. I would love a nostalgic place where adults could come and do old fashioned sleep-away camp: Skits, arts and crafts, capture the flag. They could have nostalgia-decade themes: 50's, 60's 70's, 80's 90's. You wouldn't have to be a child from those decades but the music, theming, etc. would be inspired by the decades. Oh! Maybe they could call it WandaVision camp.

Date: 2022-04-26 02:08 pm (UTC)I can't believe people are seriously discussing Disney moving the parks in Florida -- it's practically a county in itself. (I grew up in Orlando). However Disney has already been developing something somewhat like what you're discussing, which is to say more all-inclusive resorts in a number of places. I don't know that any rides are planned for any of them -- I think these are more an expansion of the Disney hotels and travel division. I agree it would be a great idea to have at least one for each though.

I love Mythic Quest. I think my favorite episode is Dinner Party...and Everlight. You? There were a few days where I was obsessed with the song from Everlight. "We Drink Light".
The end of Ozark is coming soon...right? We're going to be late getting to it. My husband and I wrote down guesses of who's going to survive.
I need to look back more closely at your interests and see what other shows you watch.

Date: 2022-04-26 11:34 pm (UTC)Yes, the second half of Ozark is coming...next month? I expect I'll end up binging it since that's a show I watch on my own, and of course with it being on Netflix that's possible π
I don't think my Interests will say much about current shows as I tend to add stuff in there only if I'm particularly fannish about it. (And mine aren't that old, but I think some people have never updated theirs!) However I can point to past shows I have watched: if you click the Chapter Index button the dropdown will list shows I've discussed as recently as 2018.
